Hi! I am Yong Jae Kim and Assistant Professor in Political Science and International Studies at Hawaii Pacific University. My research interests are Comparative Politics, National Security, and Political Methodologies. More specifically, my research deals with Comparative Political Behavior, Comparative Political Institutions, and East Asian Politics and International Relations. In terms of methodologies, I am interested in survey analysis and text-mining model.

My research questions are how political institutions respond to social conflicts and what factors affect political decisions as well as electoral outcomes. My papers were published in the Government and Opposition, Asian Survey, Asian Politics and Policy, and others.
